The AGC Group's history began more than a century ago, when Asahi Glass Company took on the challenge of manufacturing the first flat glass in Japan, with a view to contribute to people's lives and the country's industrial development. Since that time, the Group has built up expertise and technologies in the fields of glass, electronics, chemicals and ceramics, while providing solutions to a wide range of industries, including the building materials, automotive and electronics industries. After the launch of its business operations in India in the 1950s, the Group expanded its business throughout Asia, Europe and North and South America, and its employees around the world have been striving for the development of local economy and society in each region. The basics of our business is to contribute to society through our unique materials and solutions developed using the Group's expertise and technologies.​     
 
The AGC Group now has operations in over 30 countries for a total of over 200 subsidiaries and approximately 50,000 group employees worldwide.

Our glass operations holds the top global share for many glass product types including glass for glazing, decorative glass and special-purpose glass.

The AGC group has the leading golbal market share in flat glass. Based on our in-house company structure, we operate flat glass businesses in the three regions of Japan/Asia, North America and Europe, with our headquarters based in Belgium. Because flat glass needs vary by region, each region anticipates the specific demands of their local market and tailors products suited to their customers.
On the other hand, the company headquarters leads various activites such as cost benchmarking to strengthen our competitive edge, while encouraging exploration of new markets and coordination global R&D activities aimed at optimizing customer satisfaction and enhancing our leadership in the industry.

   AGC Flat Glass (Thailand) Plc. (as one of AGC group) is the first flat glass manufacturer in Thailand. Established in 1963 under the former name of “Thai Asahi Glass” as the joint venture of Thai Investor and AGC Inc. from Japan.

Produces quality flat glass such as Clear float glass, Tinted float glass, Mirror, Heat reflective glass, Low-E glass, Tempered glass, Laminated safety glass, Insulating glass, several kinds of specialty glass including glass for energy conservation to supply to construction (housing & building), processor, fabricated industry and automobile glass manufacturer both domestic and export customers in the region and around the world
